I am a scientist by training (Eckerd College, BSc; Caltech, Ph.D.). I worked for 27 years as a Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry developing processes to manufacture medicines for human and animal health. I now spend my time as a photographer and world traveler.   1. +Liz MC There are 400+ steps to the top of the church, and the same number down. At least the spiral sections have separate up and down paths. The white lines are to help you see the steps in the dark. It is tight and no hand rails. An experience. 

  2. Wow, that is quite an experience, and I'm sure your legs thank you for that!  We walked to the top of St Paul's Cathedral in London and it has 300+ if I remember right.  That's quaint with the lines to help you see.  Thanks for that info +David Mathre !
