Indoor Summertime Nature in New Jersey.

I keep finding these crawling Scutigera coleoptrata “house centipedes” around the house. Like spiders, I know they are supposed to be a good thing eating other insects and silverfish, but ….

  1. Do these creepy things bite 🙁 GOD i keep finding them in my ROOM not cool im freaking out!!! I have my hubby kill them with bug killer spray stuff they are not welcome!! DO THEY BITE????

    1. My understanding is that they do not bite. Like spiders they go after other insects. I don’t have a problem with ants or stink bugs in the house anymore.

      1. Fully grown adults can be about 2 inches long, with 15 legs on each side. My macro images may make them look larger. I don’t like them in my bedroom, but don’t think they bite — they only go after other insects in the house.
